Electric Dragon News

What you see here is a picture of my doorstep the day after Christmas. Note the pumpkin’s broken spirit and the rage hidden in the depths of the owl’s eyes. We precipitated their condition with shameful neglect, and I fear we have done the same to you. To all of you who have returned to our site again and again in search of content, only to be sent away with an empty heart and a news posting dated well after we should have cleaned the Halloween decorations from our yard, we are dreadfully sorry. We are even more sorry that this trend will likely continue for some time yet.

In early August Mrs. Gordon will give birth to the primary reason for our negligence, and for some time thereafter she will have little interest in anything besides our new baby girl. We have never done this sort of thing before, and we want to get it right the first time. To this end, much of our free time in the last few months has been given over to preparations for B-day, while the rest was given to napping, reading, and the Nintendo Wii. The good news is that we are taking measures to increase efficiency and add to our staff (no simple feat considering that we have no budget, and are forced to entice potential staffers entirely with free lasagna). With any luck we will be able to update our site with something approaching timeliness even while devoting a steadily growing amount of time to our new familial addition.

On a related side note. One of our readers, lets call him Mr. Bolt, pointed out that our submission page stated we would send a reply to all submissions within forty-five days. That page was written long before we received our first submission, in a time when we still grossly underestimated the level of commitment this project would entail. Since that day I have opened my submission inbox after a single week of absence to find 900 messages, give or take. I am still very sorry I did not reply to each and every one of you, but I fear there is no practical way to make up for my lapse. We have changed the submission page to reflect realty, and we will try to be more realistic when setting goals in the future. I will send Mr. Bolt a personal thank you from myself and all those he helped with his thoughtful words.

Sincerely,

Gordon
